Differences between a blog and a website

Here’s my new post for those wanting to be on the magical world of internet, in order to publish their articles and projects. In this post, I’ll describe blogs and websites; then I will also try to answer the questions you have in your mind by sharing a few simple tips.

There are millions of sites that are established and live for a variety of reasons. But in this post, it is about personal websites and blogs. You can also find important notes about why you would need a site and what you need to do for it below.

Let’s get started by describing two important concepts. What is a blog? What is a website?

What is a blog?

A blog is a weblog, The posts are listed in chronological order, and each post has a specific published date. Blog posts can be written in any topic, and there are no restrictions on the topic to be talked about. Apart from personal blogs, corporate blogs are often can be found as well. You can use blog services like wordPress and Blogger to create a personal blog. You can create your own blog, with your own name, by purchasing a domain name and web hosting (Such as as well.

As you can write blog posts just by your own, you can work with multiple authors as well. Your posts can be viewed on your author name, while other posts can be viewed on the same page by their own names.

What is a website?

A website is almost anything that can be found on the internet in HTML, CSS, Javascript and many other formats. Unlike blogs; In websites, there are also external top pages and other sub-links to introduce the site’s mission and the owner. The information such as the audience and community type that the site relates to, and basic info about the site content can be easily located. If you already have a blog and you host this blog in a web hosting / server, then you actually have a website. It’s entirely up to you to choose between saying that you have a blog or you have a website. However, there are a few things you need to do to evolve “my blog” on “my website”.

  • Apart from your posts, Creating top pages to introduce yourself, the site and your works

As mentioned above; A website should have very detailed information about the owner of the site. If you want to launch a website for your business, you should have a fair amount of information such as the business’s postal address, phone number, your and business’s values. Depending on the project, you can also use knowledge base articles, email support and a live support service if needed, for visitors to get informed easily. In personal and corporate websites, links to social media profiles must be included and easily noticable.
