This band has a very interesting forming story. About 20 years ago, American Ethan Holtzman heard Cambodian rock music during his days in Cambodia. The people of Cambodia suffered a very difficult time in the 1970s however they didn’t hesitate to make their music while trying to heal of those dark days. There are names such as Sinn Sisamouth and Ros Serey Sothea, those can be called as very important names in the 60’s and 70’s of Khmer rock music. Ethan Holtzman and his band were influenced by this style and decided to go with khmer rock. So who would sing in Khmer for them? they decided to work with Chhom Nimol, a popular name in Phnom Penh, among a whole range of voices.
